Crewe Krazy races launched just weeks ago and already the event has taken the town by storm with nearly all the event's maximum 40 team spaces sold out and thousands expected to attend.

The free to attend soapbox derby event will be coming to town on Sunday 14th July 2024 and since launching in December, speculation about the exact race route of the much-anticipated event has reached fever pitch. Today, organisers can confirm exactly where in Crewe the event will take place.

Teams brave enough to take on the challenge, will be starting their downhill descent on Ford Lane before taking a sharp right hand turn bend onto Broad Street and zooming down past Brooklands. Up to 20,000 people are expected to be in attendance cheering teams on as they cross the finish line (just before Badger Avenue).

Within Brooklands, organisers will be creating an event village with local food traders, family entertainment and a large event screen for families to sit with picnics and watch the action.

Danny Scoffin, Head of Brand & Strategic Development for Krazy Races, said: “Living in Crewe myself, I have been asked so many times since launching, where the route will be. It’s so great to finally be able to announce our route with everyone today after keeping the secret for so long.  Our challenge is not only to find a great hill for racers but also to find a space big enough to accommodate as many spectators as possible. This route really gives us the best of both worlds and will allow us room within our event village to work with and showcase more incredible local businesses, charities and stakeholders.”

Crewe Town Council has teamed up with Sarah Belcher Events Limited, the organisers of Krazy Races, to bring this unique event to the Town after seeing the tremendous economic impact the event has generated in other areas.

A Crewe Town Council spokesperson commented: “We are delighted to announce the location of Crewe Krazy Races as Broad Street and Brooklands! After carrying out multiple site visits across the town with the team at Krazy Races it was clear to us that this would be the perfect location for the event with it being only a short walk from the town centre. The event location’s close proximity to the town centre gives visitors to the event the opportunity to explore the other fantastic offers in the town, such as the Heritage Centre where visitors can learn all about Crewe’s past, grab some food from the Market Hall or even watch a show at the Lyceum Theatre - one of Cheshire’s leading entertainment venues!”

Event organisers are looking for a maximum of 40 teams to enter the race in a knockout style competition with multiple trophies and prizes. Applications for team entries are open but will automatically close once the maximum 40 team threshold is reached. Teams and spectators are encouraged to raise as much money as possible for charity, and later this year, the event will announce its official Crewe Krazy Races headline charity selection process.

Information on how to enter can be found on The Krazy Races website www.krazyraces.co.uk

Interesting if anyone there accepts bets for Krazy races. I am a professional in gambling and could not live a day without making money online. Once I moved to Canada, I play only Newfoundland online casino using recommendations described in https://newfoundlandlabradorcasino.com site for players. I am going to visit Chester soon, so hopefully I will be able to make some success on the race.
