With the days increasingly chilly, many of our prized coffee shops are broadening their selection of speciality hot chocolates. To minimise the amount of time you have to spend wandering the streets in search of these elusive heated beverages, we’ve rounded up our favourites and listed them below.

Sometimes an escape from the real world is all we need, and what better way to do this than to lose yourself in a selection of the finest board games? There is only one way to improve this, and that is to add quality beverages and cakes to the mix. Located in the heart of Chester, CUPS caters to exactly this and, especially for Autumn, has recently released a peanut-butter hot chocolate, best served alongside a freshly baked Gingerbread Muffin!

Bean and Cole

Located in the heart of Chester City Centre, this welcoming, family-owned coffee shop is certainly worth a visit. You could even bring your dog as it is dog friendly too!

Aside from an awe-inspiring selection of speciality coffee, quality teas and freshly prepared, moreish bakes, you can grab yourself warming cup of Blendsmiths Hot Chocolate. The beans for this gluten free, dairy-free and vegan friendly delight are grown on a small farm in the Ivory Coast, and then turned into cocoa powder here in the UK. Sounds like an outstanding beverage to us!

Marmalade

This quaint, wheelchair-friendly café on Northgate Street offers a paramount selection of hot chocolate varieties, alongside a tempting selection of (mostly) gluten-free bakes, homemade soups and the classic hot drink fayre. New for Autumn, Marmalade is offering a selection of warm, sweet-treats, namely Honeycomb, Gingerbread and Chilli infused hot chocolates, all served with cream and marshmallows to taste. Fancy something a little more classic? Then a white hot chocolate will be right down your street.

Serving nine different, spectacular flavours in 100% compostable cups, have you considered Hotel Chocolat for your cocoa-fix? What is more, all their powders can be purchased in bulk to enjoy from the warmth and comfort of your own home. So, whether it is a classic dark hot chocolate, or one with a dash of chilli, hazelnut, or salted caramel, that you are after, Hotel Chocolat will have you covered!
