The first man-powered crossing of Drakes Passage and other adventures.
Born in Scotland, at the age of 30 in 2014, Jamie Douglas-Hamilton embarked on an adventure which would change his life. He set out to row 5,000 miles across the Indian Ocean from Australia to Africa with 5 others, breaking two world records and made a remarkable discovery leading to the creation of ActiPH Water, the first alkaline ionised UK water brand.
In 2019, he added to his tally of world records (now 15!) by rowing across Drakes Passage to Antarctica and again in 2022, just 5 months after open heart surgery, another Antarctic row to South Georgia. Jamie will tell this extraordinary story, his near brush with death and overcoming adversity with grit, determination and physical preparation and his mission to encourage more people to drink water and to embrace entrepreneurial spirit.
Includes a glass of prosecco and canapes during the interval. To book your tickets email sales@combermereabbey.co.uk
