Trena Cox: Reflections 100 is an exploration through exhibition and art of the legacy of one of Chester’s unsung heroines.
Trena Cox (1895-1980) made an enduring commitment to Chester, living and working in the city throughout her long career as a professional woman stained glass artist. Her vibrant designs can be found at over sixty locations throughout the North West and North Wales, with a small number at locations further afield, including Walsingham. She was a passionate advocate for the preservation of Chester’s heritage.
Despite Cox being Chester’s foremost professional woman stained glass artist, her name is not widely known.
Visit this exhibition to uncover the incredible life of Trena Cox, see her art in situ in Chester Cathedral, and explore local artists’ responses to her output.
Workshops and activities accompany this exhibition so you can learn more about Trena Cox, how stained glass is made, and the exciting artwork that lights up our churches and halls. Click here to find out more.
