Preview - 22nd March (11am - 4pm)
Macc Art Lounge warmly invite you to join us for our new exhibition 'Trees and Other Fantasies'.
An exhibition of new paintings and collages by Lindsey Hambleton
and sculpture by Neil Wood.
The exhibition will feature over 25 works by Lindsey Hambleton.
Lindsey writes: I feel safest among trees: not a passive calm, but an invigoration of the senses, a heightening of colours, sounds and textures and a desire to capture those things in paint. A woodland is an enclosure and a stage where compositions are framed and proportioned by natural lines, where the shapes and spaces and the unseen allow my mind to wander beyond reality.
Neil Wood is known for his bold gestural bronze sculptures exploring human experience and relationships.
Neil writes: The making process is very important in my practice. Engaging with the materials, processes and techniques allows me to engage with the subject matter in a more visceral way, responding to the materials intuitively, which keeps the creative decision making active throughout the making of the work.
We look forward to welcoming you to the gallery!
