A well-loved BBC broadcasting duo who used to host the revered Breakfast Show slot on Radio 1 are heading to Warrington as part of a reunion tour.
Mark Radcliffe and Marc Riley will present ‘Carry On: An Audience with Mark and Lard’ at Parr Hall on Sunday, November 10.
The tour is in response to phenomenal demand for the duo’s upcoming online reunion show on the 20th anniversary of their last programme for Radio 1.
It was originally supposed to be a one-off but now Mark and Marc are ‘shamelessly milking it’ by announcing further events for the autumn.
Mark and Lard were known for their dry wit, chemistry together, comedy sketches, spoof songs and interviews with special guests. David Bowie used to describe their Radio 1 afternoon programme as ‘THE show’.
Their visit to Parr Hall will see the pair ‘wrestle once again on the sheepskin rug of light entertainment’ – taking the form of an extended interview with selected audio clips followed by a question and answer session.
There may also be the odd Shirehorses classic to sing along to but try not to let that put you off…
