Working round their young family, they produce beautiful woodcut and papercut pictures that create magical shadows when illuminated. I’m a cartoonist based in Macclesfield, Cheshire in the UK. I’ve created characters and comics for The Beano, Aces Weekly, Comic Heroes magazine, Comic Scene magazine and The Brooklyn Red-Hook star revue NYC. In 2017 I received a grant from the Arts Council England to create my comic Here comes Cat Stevens! I have run cartoon drawing clubs around the world and organise MACC-POW! my hometown’s annual comic art festival.

Curiosity Bookshop

Built in 1857, six small cottages eventually merged into a single building, now home to the Curiosity Bookshop. Opened in 1990 by published author Liz Howard it is now owned and run by son Christopher. Covering 500 square metres, it is one of the largest independent bookshops in the North of England, with a huge stock range to delight the discerning browser. Local books feature prominently, the owner’s family being very familiar with local history, having lived in the town for at least two hundred years.

A to G Music                      

As a local Musician I left my 9 to 5 job with the idea of being able to support my fellow musicians by offering repairs. I then acquired a small space and opened in Warrington Market at the end of 2013. Initially an instrument repair shop, the business soon became established as the local musicians choice to come to for repairs and accessories. In September 2017 I expanded into a larger space in the interim Warrington market with more instruments and accessory items. Then in 2019, I began working in conjunction with an online retail partner from Reverb. We have expanded our pre-loved collection into one of the most varied collections in the Northwest. As of June 2020 our long-standing relationship with Warrington Market continued with the opening of a major retail space within the new £100m Time Square development
