Join a Julia Hartley for a special summer solstice sunrise walk at Alderley Edge, raising money for charity while experiencing one of Cheshire’s most iconic landscapes at a unique time of day.

Meeting at 1:45am outside The Running Bear shop in Alderley Edge, this guided walk heads out under the early morning sky towards the Edge. Walking at this quieter time offers a completely different experience, with peaceful surroundings and the gradual transition from night into day. The route follows well-maintained paths through woodland and open ground, leading up to the escarpment where the group will pause to take in the sunrise.

The summer solstice adds an extra layer of atmosphere, marking the longest day of the year and a moment that has long been associated with seasonal traditions and local folklore. Alderley Edge is steeped in myth and legend, and this walk offers the chance to experience the landscape in a more reflective and memorable way, away from the usual daytime crowds. The pace will be gentle and inclusive, making this suitable for a wide range of abilities, including those newer to walking or simply looking for a unique shared experience outdoors.
