Community group Holmes Chapel Partnership has held a successful Assessment Day in its search for Harry’s Home Village Tour Guides.

The not-for-profit organisation received over 150 applications following its call for Harry Styles experts to lead summer tours around the popstar’s hometown, earlier this month.

Having worked through the applications, 20 hopefuls attended the Partnership’s Tour Guide Assessment Day in Holmes Chapel on Saturday 20 April.  Attendees were put through their paces with an 80-question quiz on Harry Styles and Holmes Chapel village.  Each was asked to make a short individual presentation, alongside creating a team presentation to assess their teamwork and leadership skills.

“The Assessment Day went incredibly well,” commented Peter Whiers, Chair of Holmes Chapel Partnership.  “There was a lot of love for Harry in the room but also many applicants whose shared fantastic knowledge of local history and pride in Holmes Chapel village.  Alongside this, we were keen to identify applicants who were well organised, engaging speakers and confident to lead a group safely around the village.  I was really impressed with the calibre of the attendees today and I’m confident we can now appoint Tour Guides who will make Harry Home Village Tours an entertaining and enjoyable experience this summer.”

Such was the success of the Assessment Day, that the Partnership would like to appoint more than the 12 Tour Guides originally sought: “The combination of the excellent applicants we met today and high early interest in the tours has swayed our decision to offer positions to several more Tour Guides,” added Peter.  “This will ensure we have a team large enough to comfortably meet demand and deliver daily tours over the summer months.”

Holmes Chapel Partnership welcomed over 5,000 Harry Styles fans to the historic Cheshire village in 2023, distributing free maps to help visitors find popular Harry landmarks and take safe walking routes.

Running on Saturday mornings in June and weekdays from July-September, Harry’s Home Village Tour will last around 2.5-3hrs and include safe walking routes to popular locations such as Mandeville’s Bakery and Twemlow Viaduct.  Tour participants will each receive a unique Harry’s Home Village Tour map offering exclusive offers at retailers and venues throughout Holmes Chapel.

Tickets for Harry’s Home Village Tour will be priced around £20 to cover costs.

As someone who loves both Harry Styles and history, I'm thrilled to see this initiative taking shape. It's amazing how the community is coming together to celebrate local pride and share knowledge about our village's rich heritage. I didn't have time for that at all, so I decided to check the review at https://medium.com/@george.kv/mysupergeek-review-2024-420302790a2d and turned to experts who handled my tasks. I can't wait to join one of these tours and learn more about Holmes Chapel while indulging in some Harry fandom. It's the perfect blend of fun and education, and I'm definitely adding it to my list of summer activities.
